Design Events 2023 Paris Design Week Trends

Eleonora Romano • 26 September 2023

"Earlier this month, our team had the privilege of immersing ourselves in the world of luxury interior design at Maison et Objet during Paris Design Week. As seasoned luxury interior designers, we know that Paris interiors are renowned for their elegance and sophistication.

Maison et Objet is one of Europe's leading design events, making it an ideal platform for us to connect with like-minded designers and brands, discover exquisite creations, and showcase our own expertise in luxury interior design. In this blog, we're thrilled to take you on a journey through the latest trends and designs we uncovered at this prestigious event, offering you a glimpse into the world of luxury interior design in the heart of Paris."

Maison et Objet is a treasure trove of artistic inspiration, and this year's event showcased a fascinating array of trends in artistic objects, furniture, lighting, and fabrics.

Artistic Objects: One-of-a-Kind Wonders

These objects d'art had a singular goal: to be the undisputed centerpieces of the interior space; they followed the prevailing trend of organic curves, seamlessly integrating themselves into the overall aesthetic of the interiors. These pieces exuded a sense of harmony, their fluid lines echoing the natural world.

Conversely, there were objects with bold individuality. Sharp angles, striking colours, and an unmistakable resemblance to expressionist works defined this approach. These pieces demanded attention and celebrated their uniqueness with creative use of glass, travertine, vibrant colours, and innovative techniques.

Here are some of our favourites: Gardeco, Guax and  Reflection Copenhagen.

These brands provide an incredible array of decorative and sculptural objects from great artist accross the world.

Furniture: Sculptural Poetry in Design

The furniture scene was nothing short of a sculptural masterpiece. Each piece was an artwork in its own right, calling out to be admired and cherished.

Organic curves continued to dominate, with chairs and sofas embracing the fluidity of the natural world. These designs exuded an aura of serenity, inviting you to sink into their graceful embrace.

Geometry and architectural features played a leading role in other furniture creations. Bold lines, intricate forms, and striking angles transformed everyday items into statements of design prowess.

For this we were invited to prestigious galleries like Thierry Lemaire's Gallery, and the Invisible Collection featuring at Feau Boiseries.

Displayed in a dream like setting, the collection featured exquisite pieces tickling every collector's desire.

This exclusive exhibition (by invitation only) strikes you from the first moment whith its poetic foyer and Thierry Lemaire pieces.

These creations are the proud prepresentatives of the french savoir fare, and are worth the investment.

Fabrics: The allure of quiet Luxury and Rustic Charm

The fabric trend this year embraced a quiet luxury grounded in natural palettes and materials. Neutrals reigned supreme, evoking a sense of calm and sophistication.
Organic fabrics, predominantly linen, graced upholstery and drapery, bringing a tactile quality to interiors. Earthy tones, including terracotta, added warmth and depth, while unfinished materials and a handmade quality evoked an artisanal look and feel.

"Maison et Objet 2023 truly pushed the boundaries of creativity and showcased an exciting blend of timeless elegance and avant-garde innovation. It's a testament to the boundless creativity that continues to define the world of interiors, promising a future that's as sustainable and exciting as it is stylish.

1. The Power of Rich Hues: As the days grow shorter, introduce a palette of deep, rich colours into your villa. Envelop your living spaces in sumptuous browns and wine accents. Consider luxurious velvet upholstery in decadent burgundy or chocolate tones, like the ' Sennen Sofa' by Sedilia, to create an inviting cocoon.
